(IN) THE ABYSSITY OF THE GROUNDS
Linda Sharrock (US), Mario Rechtern (DE/AT), Margaret Unknown (AT/DE), ...
In our limited perception of reality and the continuous influence of fictional, layered “digitalism” and artificiality everybody is confronted with day after day, an unreality of life itself is manifesting and taking it’s part. The DISABILITY of society to overcome the babel complex, the confusion of tongues, is the fear of our diversity. The essence of live is change, the essence of evil is backwards. Because THIS is what you do not see. It’s what you carry inside and transcend to something haptic and only then recognize as real, while all other appearances are mirages and projections, nostalgias or resentiment - the ghosts of the underworld.
(I)TAOTG is an ongoing shifting-ensemble with an x variable of members. Instead of working with a fixed group – perfecting the interaction in a known environment – it works with a more organic process of evolution, slowly establishing a language and connection between the pool of likeminded artists, not bound by borders or locality.
Since 2011 it’s constantly changing and evolving around the core group of Margaret Unknown, Mario Rechtern and Linda Sharrock.

Golden Lab Records
First major release of brand new material arguably since her work with Wolfgang Puschnig in the late ’80s by one of free jazz’s most important icons whose transition via a debilitating stroke into deep, guttural wordlessness has seen her enter a new realm of primal vocal raging. This is Linda Sharrock, best known for her show-stealin’ voice work on ex-husband Sonny’s two albumsBlack Woman and Monkey-Pockie Boo, at her wailing, heart-stopping best, flanked by a stellar group of Theresa Eipeldauer (voice), Mario Rechtern (soprano, alto, baritone, saxoline and voice), Margaret Unknown (guitar, electronics and voice) and Didi Kern (drums), recorded in 2014 for over TWO HOURS presented here across THREE heavyweight vinyl LPs. A truly stunning, demented and absolutely essential bombardment of relentless energy by one of the giants of avant-garde music, with amazing whacked liner notes by Saxophonist Mario Rechtern, this is gonna sell out FAST FAST FAST, so pre-order now to avoid disappointment.
